Lent Programme 2020
The Lent Course for this year is “True Friendship” by Vaughan Roberts. Although not a book written specifically as a Lent Course, it offers a Christian perspective on a world where we are more connected than ever before and yet where loneliness is rampant. The church should be a place marked by love, grace and acceptance, but even here interactions can be awkward and superficial. “True Friendship” takes us back to the Bible, encouraging us to recognise the importance of how we relate to one another as Christian brothers and sisters, and the powerful witness that can be to the world when we sacrificially love others. Whatever the state of our friendships, this book will help us to see how we can live out our true humanity to God’s glory. Each chapter includes a series of questions to consider and discuss.
We will be in the Buckland Chapel on Tuesday evenings from the 3rd to the 31st of March, starting at 7.30 pm and the structure of the evening will be similar to previous years. The first and last meeting (Ash Wednesday, February 26th, and Maundy Thursday, April 9th) will be in St. Andrew’s church, also at 7.30 pm.
We would be delighted to welcome you there!
