Buckland Monachorum Youth Emmaus

Youth Emmaus

If you are aged 11-17 we would love you to join us for any of our meet-ups!
For more info, please contact Tristan Stevenson-Coulshaw (youth@bucklandchurchdevon.co.uk) who is our youth worker.
Youth Emmaus meet at 10:30am during the morning service in the staff room of St Andrew’s School on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of the month (until Jan 2019 when it will change to the 2nd and 4th Sundays only). It is led by Tristan Stevenson-Coulshaw, his wife, Sarah, and Denise Nixon & Jane Oliver. Youth Emmaus is all about growing in the Christian faith and learning how to live as Christians in an increasingly challenging world. We believe that the young people of today have a huge calling on their lives that is to be put into effect now and in preparation for the future.
We average 12 young people and we welcome all, whether or not you regularly come to church or have a faith. As well as having Bible teaching and prayer, we play games, chat over a hot chocolate and spend time getting to know each other.
Starting in January 2019 the 3rd Sunday morning services in church will have a more youthful tone. We will start with drinks and cakes and then have a service which will involve the young people more.
In the summer, we head off to Heatree House for a weekend. We have a great time doing team roping and climbing challenges, getting neck deep in mud, kayaking and playing wide games. There are great times of getting to know each other and drawing closer to God.
We also have a fabulous youth team at Parish Camp in July with trips to Woodlands, capture the flag on the beach at night, praying under the stars and much more!
